How do you pronounce the app’s name, AIME?
It’s pronounced like Amy, “AY-mee,” like your super-helpful friend who always has the answers. This time, Amy isn’t reminding you where you left your sunglasses; she’s assisting you in redefining how you understand and monitor your health and wellness. Talk about a glow-up!
How do I subscribe to AIME?
Currently, AIME is available by invitation only. If you have received an invitation, follow the instructions to complete your registration. If you haven’t received an invitation, don’t worry! We’ll be unlocking a waiting list soon so you can secure your spot and be among the first to know when registration becomes available. Participants on the waiting list will be notified at least one month before public registration. Stay tuned for updates!
Why would I subscribe to AIME when I am content with my Fitbit or Apple watch?
If you’re happy with your Fitbit or Apple Watch, you might wonder why AIME could be a more suitable option. In fact, all the original partners have been Fitbit or Apple Watch wearers for years and were happy with them. However, if affordability and long-term value are essential to you, AIME provides a compelling alternative. What is the AIME scan mobile application?
AIME is a mobile phone application that measures vital signs instantly with our contactless AI face-scanning technology. It can be used by individuals who want an easy way to track health metrics like blood pressure and oxygen levels, monitor stress and recovery, detect early signs of illness, share data with doctors for preventative care, and manage chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease. It is also helpful for athletes and fitness enthusiasts, corporate wellness programs, scientific studies and clinical researchers.
So how does the AIME mobile application work?
While your question is far more complicated to answer than we have time in the FAQ section, the AIME mobile application uses remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) and AI to capture and analyze your vitals. Your smartphone camera measures the differences in the reflectivity of light that hits the user’s skin, which corresponds to the different pulse rates of the body. Computer vision and predictive analysis AI then monitor the user’s face and conclude the readings for their vital signs. Please visit our Research page for more medically detailed information.
Is the internet required to use scans?
The short answer you seek is NO; you do not need a connection to do a scan. But your question requires additional explanation. The AIME mobile application can store up to seven days of data on your phone before connecting to our cloud providers to store your history. The most crucial time an internet connection is necessary is when you first register the app. You only receive a license key once you register, which is valid for the month. After that, you only need to connect once a week to upload any history and renew your token.
Will AIME work for all skin tones?
Yes, AIME will work for all skin tones. The most important thing to note when conducting an AIME scan is to achieve even lighting across the face. The application is most accurate when your face is illuminated well and evenly because TOI needs to capture re-emitted light from blood flow. It is worth noting that a user with darker skin may require more light across the face if they are having trouble conducting a successful scan. While it’s not a requirement, Users can also use ring lights to illuminate their faces successfully. AIME supports all natural skin tones based on the Fitzpatrick Skin Type Classification
I need to change the email address to which I subscribed. How do I get it modified?
Great question. You probably noticed that you could not change your email on the website and/or your app. This consequence is on purpose. Your email is how we make sure NO personally identifiable data is exchanged between the mobile app, website, or credit card processor, and its continuity is required for you to keep your activation alive. We will be happy to assist. Email support[at]aimescan.com with your current email and the new email you wish to be associated with, and our staff will make sure to update our databases. Please include a phone number with your request; they might need to verify it is you.
Account and Billing
Are my credit card payments secure? Are you PCI compliant?
AIME has partnered with Stripe for credit card processing, which is PCI Service Provider Level 1 certified, the highest certification level available. Stripe’s payment systems are PCI DSS compliant, meeting industry standards for reducing payment fraud. The platform adheres to stringent security standards to protect cardholder data. Your credit card data is NOT stored on our web servers. We have integrated Stripe’s secure transactions with the assistance of their fantastic development team.
What forms of payment does AIME accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Amazon Pay, Google Pay, JCB and China UnionPay payments from customers worldwide.
What is your refund policy?
Since AIME offers a subscription model, we install or reactivate license keys on the first of every month and at activation. Because of this model, your app will continue working even after cancellation. You won’t be charged for future subscription fees after canceling, but your past subscription fees won’t be refunded. Under our terms of use, please uninstall the AIME mobile application after your scan ability is disabled due to token expiration.
Why am I being asked to enter my credit card if someone paid for my subscription?
We request credit card verification to ensure account security and validate your subscription. This step helps us confirm your identity, prevent unauthorized access, and facilitate a smooth transition if you continue your subscription after your organization’s paid period ends. Rest assured, no charges will be made until your subscription expires. You can also check your account settings to verify your remaining subscription period or cancel anytime before renewal to avoid charges.
Does AIME provide invoices?
Invoices are automatically generated and accessible from the email sent upon subscription completion. You can also log in to your AIME website account. Click the menu Member > Account > Customer Portal, where you will see invoice history. You can download it from here.
How do I cancel my subscription?
We’re sorry to see you go, but we understand your decision. Log in to your AIME website account. Click the menu Member > Account > Customer Portal. This will take you to our Credit Card processor site, where you will see a Cancel subscription; click. If there’s anything we can do to improve or assist you in the future, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Under our terms of use, please uninstall the AIME mobile application after your scan ability is disabled due to token expiration.
How do I reset my password?
This is a multi-answer question. To reset your password to the website, go to the Login link in the menu and click Forgot your password? This will take you to a page where you can enter the email address we have on file and click reset password. We email you a link to get you back on track. To reset your password on the mobile application, log off the app, and on the login screen, you can click the option to reset your password. It follows the same procedure as the website. Please note that you can have different passwords for each. The only thing is that your email must be the same for both.

Do you offer a free/trial version?
We don’t offer a free or trial version at the moment, but if we do introduce one in the future, we will post information on our website.
Will AIME work on my smartphone?
Please visit our Device Requirements page for minimum requirements. It has the most up-to-date information we presently have. While some of the best developers work for us, they cannot have tried AIME on every smartphone. As of November 2024, More than 1 billion iPhones and over 3 billion Android devices are currently active, and our development team is diligently ensuring that AIME will work with most of them. In addition, as of 2023, there were 250 active brands of smartphones. If our team cannot get AIME working on your phone within the first thirty days, we will gladly refund your subscription and add your phone to our compatibility list so that others will learn from your experience.
Is there a limit to the number of scans I can do with AIME?
No. Your subscription to the AIME mobile application affords you unlimited scans each month. We recommend you wait five (5) minutes between scans. If you are monitoring a specific vital such as blood pressure, we recommend that one scan be done at the same time each day. Talk with your healthcare professional about when and how often to take your face scan.
Is there a fee to register the AIME app?
No. Once you have subscribed to membership on our Website, you will get free access to the AIME mobile application. You will be able to download and install the app on your phone. When you initially run the application, you will be asked to register your account with the email address you recorded for membership and set a personal password.
How do I use the app?
When you have your vital signs measured by your healthcare provider, it is done in a controlled environment for the most accurate measurements. While the AIME mobile application is not a medical device, it should also be used in a controlled environment. For our best practices in using AIME, please visit our How to Scan page.
Can makeup affect the accuracy of AIME?
Makeup could influence the accuracy of readings obtained using AIME’s rPPG technology. Since the mobile application relies on detecting subtle changes in the user’s face and analyzing blood flow patterns, makeup that alters the skin’s natural appearance could interfere with the measurements. Heavy makeup, mainly foundation or concealer with high coverage, will make it challenging for the algorithm to accurately detect vital signs and health parameters.
To obtain accurate and reliable results when using AIME, we suggest the face be clean and free of excessive makeup to better capture and analyze the subtle facial changes required to extract essential health parameters.
What should I do if I encounter a bug or technical issue?
If you encounter a bug or technical issue in an AIME mobile application, try to reproduce the issue consistently, gather detailed information about what happened, and report the bug to the developers through the designated channels, including specific steps to replicate the problem and any relevant screenshots or error messages.

Which incorporated cameras does AIME support?
The AIME mobile application supports considerable integrated cameras on mobile devices. Our straightforward ground rule is 30 frames per second (fps) for Android mobile devices and 60 fps for iOS mobile devices.

Has the FDA approved AIME as a medical device?
The FDA’s mobile medical apps policy does not regulate the sale or general consumer use of smartphones or tablets. The FDA’s mobile medical apps policy does not consider entities that exclusively distribute mobile apps, such as the owners and operators of mobile application stores (“app stores”), to be medical device manufacturers. The FDA’s mobile medical apps policy does not consider mobile platform manufacturers to be medical device manufacturers just because their mobile platform could be used to run a mobile medical app regulated by the FDA. Anyone who says they are FDA approved or are getting approval is fibbing to you. (That is putting it mildly)

Is the website secure?
Yes. AIME has partnered with Sectigo, the largest, most trusted, commercial public CA, to secure our website. Encryption scrambles your data, making it unreadable by unauthorized individuals even if intercepted. You can click on the Secured by Sectigo logo on our home page to see the current status of our certificate.
Is there a registration fee?
No, registering on the AIME website is completely free. You will need an invitation from your organization, company, or medical group to register, at which point you will get a validation code for AIME enrollment.

How do I get information on my data stored on the AIME website?
Kudos to you for relishing your privacy. We have provided a simple process for all users. Login to your AIME website account. Click the Member > Account > Privacy menu. You will see Download your data. Type in your password and click Request data. Our administrative team will receive a notification and approve your submission during regular business hours. You will receive a link to your data to download in a zip file.
