How to scan with AIME
When you have your vital signs measured by your healthcare provider, it is done in a controlled environment for the most accurate measurements. While the AIME mobile application is not a medical device, it should also be used in a controlled environment. Scanning with AIME is simple, convenient, and can be done almost anywhere. You can achieve optimal results by making sure you, your device, and your surroundings are ready. For an AIME scan to provide the most accurate measurements, please follow these tips:
Device Requirements
- Ensure the battery level is at 20% or higher.
- Disable power-save mode.
- Check that the front-facing (selfie) camera lens is clean and unscratched.
- Avoid your device overheating by allowing 5 minutes in between sequential scans.
Environment and lighting
- Ensure your background is free of reflective surfaces, moving objects, and other people. Sitting with your back to a solid wall is ideal.
- Choose a location where your face will be evenly illuminated, preferably from a single light source directed on your face.
- Avoid direct sunlight and or multiple light sources. Cold and non-monochromatic light (>4500K) is ideal.
Preparation
- Avoid caffeine and tobacco products for at least 30 minutes prior to a scan.
- Ensure your entire face is visible (pull back hair, and remove eyeglasses, face coverings, and hats).
- Relax for five minutes before initiating a scan.
During the scan
- Hold your phone approximately 12 inches from your face, with the selfie camera at eye level and parallel to your face. If you cannot hold this position steady for 60 seconds, use a phone holder or tripod.
- Sit with your legs uncrossed and both feet flat on the floor.
- Remain still and do not talk during the scan.
- Focus on the screen until the measurement is complete.
